Obama peddles politically-correct nonsense tales in speech to Turkish Parliament

Posted by danishova on April 6, 2009

“A lie told often enough becomes truth”
Vladimir Lenin.

Sheesh.  In case you haven’t noticed, Barack is a fabulist who just makes stuff up as he goes along.  In a speech where he reminds the Muslim World of the obvious fact that “we are not at war with Islam” he gilds the lily with revisionist history:

“We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country,” Obama said.

Really? What exactly has the Islamic faith done to shape the United States of America in any way?  I can’t think of a single thing, except for the Barbary Wars* and 9/11, but I digress.

In his speech to the parliament Monday, Obama said the United States strongly supports the full normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. He also noted that the United States “still struggles with the legacy of our past treatment of Native Americans.

Classic. Never miss an opportunity to bring up some irrelevant issue favored by the p.c. elites, and use it as an excuse to promote moral relativism and America-bashing. That’s the Obama way.

“We don’t consider ourselves Christian, Jewish, Muslim. We consider ourselves a nation bound by a set of ideals and values,” Obama said of the United States. “Turkey has similar principles.”

Here he borrows from his idiotic Inauguration speech, when he said, “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth”.   Apparently he has decided that giving a shout out to nonbelievers doesn’t go over well in Turkey. In any case, we are a Judeo-Christian nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles, ideals, and values which are not at all the same as the “values” guided by Sharia Law.  Not only does Islam not embrace the principles of liberty or equality, there is absolutely nothing about Islam (or other languages!) that has shaped our founding, our constitution, our institutions, our way of life.  Zero. Zip.  Nada.

Are we “at war with Islam”? No.  Are we a theocracy? No. Have we been shaped by Islam? Absolutely not.

1.  Here’s the link to the White House Blog and a transcript of the speech, which contains a typical Barackism:

The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country — I know, because I am one of them. (Applause.)

It’s always about him!  Obama: How do I love me? Let me count the ways!

2.  WIKI has this to say about Muslim culture in the U.S.:

Muslims in the United States have increasingly contributed to American culture; there are various Muslim comedy groups, rap groups, Scout troops and magazines, and Muslims have been vocal in other forms of media as well.

I’ll let you decide whether that qualifies as “shaping” or not.

3.  Does the  Nation of Islam qualify as a ‘shaper’?

4.   Terrific! Somali Americans who  left Minneapolis to join Al-Qaeda are doing their best to ‘shape’ the world by waging Jihad –  American Al Qaeda Hold ‘Press Conference’

5.  Those diplomatic overtures worked out very well, now didn’t they! Think Progress reports:

A YouTube video has popped up of a Turkish anchor wearing dark face paint when reporting on President Obama’s recent visit to the country. Jonathan Turley has a rough translation of what the anchor is saying:

Welcome, Mr. Obama. You took our hearts with your hospitality. We appreciate your kindness. We will do whatever America asks of us, as friends. Now, we ask the same of you.

Anyone speak Turkish?

*What terrific timing!  I have one more thing to add:

The hijacking of an American ship by Somali Pirates.  For some reason I can’t get this song out of my head – From the Halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli…

OOOpps…I thought it was funny. I think he is saying a lot more than that one paragraph translation. So far he has been speaking for quite a few minutes….and it’s going on and on and on. Excellent post by danishova on April 6, 2009. Glad someome is not buying into the Obama politically-correct nonsense.
