Paging Isabel Wilkinson: You’re needed to write a shoe story about Michelle Obama

Posted by danishova on May 1, 2009

Today we were entertained by this headline from Amy Diluna at the Daily News:

First Lady Michelle Obama steps out in Lanvin sneakers and they’re only $540!

Remember this faux-scandal about John McCain?:

This summer John McCain is traveling in style. He has worn a pair of $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes on every recent campaign stop — from a news conference with the Dalai Lama to a supermarket visit in Bethlehem, PA. The Calfskin loafers, with silver-tone “Gancini” buckles, are imported from Italy.

In response to Barack Obama’s foreign tour, McCain spent much of his energy last week emphasizing his focus on domestic issues. What better way to show his American pride than to tour the country in Italian leather?

Here’s one of the scandalous photos from her idiotic HuffPo expose’:

No doubt Ms. Wilkinson will not fail to mention that Michelle’s Lanvin sneakers are French, and will include shocking photos with big red circles zeroing in on the offensive footwear.

Of course the big difference between Mac and Michelle is that Mac isn’t an arrogant, sanctimonious jackass who hypocritically lectures the rest of us about how we have to “sacrifice” for the “greater good”.

Allahpundit weighs in and notes:

We should chip in and buy a pair for Palin in hopes that she’ll wear them to a bake sale or something, just to watch the media scandal erupt over how such a supposedly “down to earth” woman could be so thoughtless as to flaunt her wealth in front of common hard-working people.
