Barack Hussein Obama: “America is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world”

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."
Marcus Tullius Cicero
Yep, you read that right. America is a Muslim country. Barack had the audacity to pronounce it in an interview with French television’s Canal Plus. Henceforth, I will use his middle name without a shred of guilt (something I have refrained from doing previously).
This astonishing statement by the Fabulist-In-Chief is on the heels of his opining to a BBC reporter about how “dangerous” it is to “impose” our values on other countries:
The danger I think is when the United States or any country thinks that we can simply impose these values on another country with a different history and a different culture," the president told the broadcaster.
But he stressed: "Democracy, rule of law, freedom of speech, freedom of religion — those are not simply principles of the West to be hoisted [sic] on these countries, but rather what I believe to be universal principles that they can embrace and affirm as part of their national identity."
Sure they will. Islam, Sharia Law, and freedom are practically synonymous, dontcha know, and will be part of the Muslim world’s ‘national identity’ any day now (thanks, no doubt, to Barack the Miracle Worker and his 4th of July celebrations with members of the Mad Mullahcracy).
Obama said he would be "encouraging" countries on his trip to promote these values, but added: "I think the thing that we can do most importantly is serve as a good role model.
Barack and his arrogant Leftist comrades are constantly scolding America, and imposing their “values” on this country, as if they as “community organizers” are better ‘role models’ than our founders.
They rewrite history in a manner reminiscent of Howard Zinn, pronounce that the Constitution is a “living document” subject to the vagaries of mood and seasons, denounce capitalism, deride wealth (except when they’re “spreading it around” like stolen crumbs to the masses), and march us towards institutionalized Statism (which, in its lust for an all-powerful, centralized state of economic planners is the antithesis of our founding federalist principles).
We heard murmurs of this in his inaugural address, where he attempted to conflate his vision with that of our founders. He talked about “remaking America” and used moral relativism to proclaim, “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth”, as if “nonbelievers” or Muslims were equally as influential on our values, culture, tradition and history as Judeo-Christianity. Now he has stepped it up way more than a notch by making the preposterous claim that we are a ‘Muslim nation’.
He is a serial apologist for America, who only begrudgingly spits out words of praise for our heritage. He intones about building “new foundations” and new “pillars”, as if he in his greatness can improve on our Founders. He holds no regard for the fact that our culture has been based on free-markets, or on individual liberty. On the contrary, his is the collectivist view, and he speaks not of the individual, but of our “collective salvation”. Indeed, hope and change is all about discarding the old and starting anew, about imposing his dangerous, radical, statist vision, and that of his despicable associates and mentors, on this great country.
He is a dangerous man, and for all his Ivy League manners and soothing voice, he is the proverbial ‘enemy at the gates’ - a man who rots the soul of our nation, undermines the pillars of the city, and infects the body politic.
Also under discussion at various blogs such as Telegraph U.K. (who uses same headline I did – which is a no-brainer) and The Weekly Standard who cite statistics to show how small our Muslim population is. Which is true, but I think they miss the point by focusing in on statistics. That data is secondary to the fact that Islam has no influence whatsoever on our values, our history, our traditions, our institutions, the principles in our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, or Bill of Rights, and to pretend otherwise is an intentional deceit.
Hot Air is amused by the statistics, but does a great job by providing recent video where Barack proclaimed that we are not a Christian nation. Frank Donateli nails it by focusing on the inextricable facts of our Judeo-Christian heritage, while Carville pooh-poohs that, citing our “Abrahamic” legacy and tries to claim Obama hasn’t been apologizing.
Jamie Wearing Fool notes,
Although we’re an 85% Christian nation, if someone has the temerity to call this a Christian nation they’re roundly condemned and excoriated by the secular left. Hussein calls this a Muslim country and trust me, you won’t hear a peep from the left. They’ll just ridicule us for being paranoid.
Jihad Watch wonders if it isn’t wishful thinking on Barack’s part; Powerline anticipates a fun day with Gibbsy; Atlas Shrugs goes ballistic with a superb recap of Barack’s constant dissembling; Michelle Malkin wonders about a 57-state caliphate.
